Depression
You've notice a shift in your teens mood. Your teen doesn't seem to have the same energy level that they used to have and they just don't look happy any more.
You ask your teen if they are okay and their response is that they are "just tired" or "I'm fine". You know that there is something deeper they are struggling with.

You may also notice other changes such as excluding themselves from activities they use to enjoy, family and friendships, significant changes in academic behaviors, or physical appearance. Although you have done your best to approach them with sensitivity and concern, they are not receptive and may shut down.

You may have even experienced your teen reach out to you or school professionals for help. This can be extremely surprising or overwhelming to you as a parent. It is normal to feel helpless and need extra support as a family. With a solution focused approach I am here to guide both you and your child with strategies and skills that can support them now and in the future.
